Remote stands often provide the best opportunity for spotting mature bucks — and the worst location for a food plot. Without the ability to utilize machine cultivators or heavy amounts of soil additives, establishing a planting off the beaten trail can be challenging at best. The solution is BioLogic Hot Spot — a scientifically selected blend of wheat, deer radish, rye, and rape--designed to be fast-germinating, extremely attractive to deer and incredibly easy to plant. No soil-tilling is required; simply clear the ground and apply the seed. Ideal for planting near treestands and in woodland clearings — and for luring pressured bucks that shun high traffic locations.

As gamekeepers, a very important asset that most people use is a trailer, and with most all things in life, they require maintenance and upkeep. With that being said, it is usually easy to maintain with a few important steps. Over the years, I have been involved with and seen several trailer issues cause problems in a number of precarious positions. One situation where I wish I had known more about bearings on trailers, I was with a friend in Venice, Louisiana coming home from a long day of fishing when a tire came off, catapulted itself fifty yards into the bay, and taunted us until the wind drifted it closer to shore. We ended up having to leave the boat and trailer on the shoulder of the road, and drive to the nearest town for parts, inevitably in which they did not have. After that debacle, I learned it was much easier to maintain, rather than repairing a trailer.
You might have heard the buzz this week from the guys out in Cupertino, California hawking their new smartphones with snazzy OLED displays. These screens are the new must-have thing in phones, TVs, and smartwatches. Would you care to take a guess who also offers these state-of-the-art displays? Yep. The SportDOG® Brand SportTrainer series of training collars also feature OLED display technology.
So what, you say? Fair question. The dynamic display on the SportTrainer transmitter lets you view the current dog you’re training, as well as the collar’s static stimulation level and mode. That way, there’s no guesswork when the time comes to make a correction. It even tells you your battery level - because who hasn’t accidentally run out of juice when that young, big-running prospect of yours decides to kick it into high gear and do his own thing?
And these OLED displays really (ahem) shine in the field. They are easy-to-read on those bluebird days, and for those of us who have eyes that have seen more than their fair share of seasons, the numbers are large and bold. They’re relatively easy on battery life, too.
Smartphone-grade technology in an electronic training collar. Because that’s Gear the Way You’d Design It®. Learn More about E-Collars.
